The ‘Full Nest’ episode of the non-dialogue, hand-drawn animated series will compete at the festival; the series launched in Germany earlier this year and has signed a number of international licensing deals at Disney+, Kidstream, and other outlets.
Elena Walf has created Lena’s Farm, a non-dialogue, hand-drawn animated series where social challenges are met with tolerance and understanding. The “Full Nest” episode has been selected in competition at the Annecy International Film Festival 2025.
The series, co-produced by Studio Film Bilder and ZDF, launched in Germany on ZDF earlier this year, and has been licensed to Disney+ across European markets; YLE Finland; SVT Sweden; DR Denmark; NRK Norway; NPO The Netherlands; SRF Switzerland; Fubon Cultural & Educational Foundation; Ceska Televize; and Kidstream.
“Elena Walf's stories are deeply personal and at the same time connect with a global audience in a very direct way,” said Thomas Meyer-Hermann, founder of Studio Film Bilder. “Her design and animation are sophisticated down to the smallest detail, so that every single frame could be a picture book page.”
“I am overjoyed to be working again with Studio Film Bilder on their superb new series, Lena’s Farm; a powerful fusion of comedy and emotion, which I am sure will have wide appeal around the world,” said Sara Cooper, founder of Meta Media Entertainment. “The reaction so far has been spectacular and I can’t wait to share the series with more buyers in the coming months.”
