The Japan Croatia Film Festival brings Anime to Zagreb September 21-23, connecting the countries through filmmaking; 3rd Croatian Film Festival heads to Tokyo in November.
The Japan Croatia Film Festival, established in 2021, connects Croatia and Japan through filmmaking, acquainting attendees with each countries’ culture, history, and traditions. The reciprocal event takes place in both countries with the 2nd Japanese Film Festival held in Zagreb from September 21-23 and the 3rd Croatian Film Festival heading to Tokyo November 15-17.
This year, screenings in Zagreb will feature eight Japanese productions including two features and one short anime:
Doraemon the Movie Nobita’s Earth Symphony (2024 -115 minutes)
The 43rd feature film of the Japanese national anime Doraemon, the film commemorates the 90th anniversary of the IPs’ original author, Fujiko F. Fujio.
Black Jack – The Movie (1996 -93 minutes)
Based on the Manga and anime characters of film’s director Osamu Tezuka.
Monster of Despair (2019 – 30 minutes)
Original story, screenplay, storyboard, direction, drawing, art, coloring, photography, editing, sound, direction, and production by Junya Kotani.
