Mattel Television Studios’ upcoming series, which features original music and updated takes on Barney classics, debuts October 14 on Max, followed by a linear premiere October 18 on Cartoon Network.

Demons, supernatural powers, and millennia-old jiangshi inhabit this new animated action series, from EPs Ali Wong and Aron Eli Coleite, about a Chinese American teen living in a small Texas town who finds out a demon king is hunting her – like being a teenager isn’t hard enough!

The company heads to the market with a series line-up that includes the 2D/CG ‘Dino Mates;’ the animated comedy ‘BFF;’ the CG/live-action hybrid ‘Momonsters;’ and Season 3 of ‘Vegesaurs.’

New broadcaster sales for the animated preschool series include SVT (Sweden), DRTV (Denmark), YLE (Finland), RTÉ (Ireland), Hop! (Israel), EBS (South Korea), MediaCorp (Singapore), and ETV (South Africa).

The 2D comedy, which follows the hilarious adventures of Chama, a “crazy rich” boy with his outrageous school and family life, premieres at MIPCOM 2024 on October 21.

Miyake Design Studio’s Yoshiyuki Miyamae, Sony Group’s Hiraoki Kitano, and WIA VP, Oscar-nominated producer Jinko Gotoh will each offer their unique insights into ground-breaking areas in computer graphics and interactive techniques; conference runs December 3-6 in Tokyo, Japan.

The programming bonanza continues this week with exciting new premieres and anticipated returns, including the just added series ‘Love Live! Superstar!!’ Season 3 (October 7), and ‘A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!’ (October 8).
