PHILADELPHIA/NEW YORK – BIGSMACK, the full-service creative agency specializing in entertainment marketing and branding, has added another key piece to its creative puzzle with Creative Director Wonhee Lee – the acclaimed and multi-award-winning animator/designer whose career includes top creative assignments for Coke, Nike, Apple, NBC, FOX, Honda, Pepsi and more, as well as the owner of a the hip Mobius gallery/retail store, and a teacher at the prestigious Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles.

“Wonhee is the most talented guy I’ve met in many years,” Andy Hann, BIGSMACK’s Head Creative said. “He has an awesome style and is extremely well-rounded creatively and technically. He can design, animate and lead a creative team. Bringing WonHee aboard is all about positioning BIGSMACK for maximum growth and expanding our scope of work, and the amount of projects we can take on, as we continue to contract more advertising, theatrical marketing and large entertainment branding assignments.”

Originally from South Korea, Lee landed in Los Angeles to attend Otis College of Art and Design. He started his career at Fox Television in the design department, before leaving to join the creative studio National Television, Los Angeles, as a Art Director. In 2007 he joined the design/animation house Buck, Los Angeles.

Looking for greater challenges, Lee turned freelance and quickly found himself involved in several high profile assignments at such studios as Psyop, Brand New School, TBWA/Media Arts Lab, Bl:ind, Digital Kitchen and Blur. In 2007 he launched Mobius, a hip LA-based gallery and retail space.

For Lee, the opportunity to join BIGSMACK as a Creative Director represents the natural progression for his career.

“I’m known for my design/animation skills, but I have always been very strategic in my approach, and even as a freelancer I usually take the lead creatively – coming aboard BIGSMACK as a Creative Director feels right,” Lee says.

He adds, “BIGSMACK is the ideal creative shop, because their work is so diverse and their business model of offering a lot of creative and production services under one roof  -- thanks to their relationship with ShootersINC and their affiliate companies DIVE and ShootersTV --  this team is in perfect sync with the way clients want to work today. They are strategically and creatively sound I’m excited to be a part of BIGSMACK at this critical juncture in the company’s creative evolution.”

WonHee Lee is represented solely by BIGSMACK, and will share creative duties between the BIGSMACK New York City and Philadelphia offices.
