9th Annual Woodstock Museum Film/Video Festival

The Woodstock Museum is hosting its 9th film/video festival with the theme of "Freedom." The festival screens completed features, documentaries and shorts in all genres, including animation and digital media, as well as works in progress. All films must be in English or have English subtitles. The early deadline is March 31, the regular deadline is June 30, and the late deadline is July 31, 2008.

Brainwash Movie Festival 2008

The Brainwash Movie Festival, the original Drive-In, Bike-In, Walk-In outdoor festival, is accepting entries of shorts and feature movies for this year's edition. The festival will also be showing some of the best of more than 500 movies in the Brainwash catalog from shows over the past 13 years. Many of the Brainwash selections chosen for their daring and uncompromising style will never be seen on television or in other more restrictive venues. It will take place at the Alliance for West Oakland Development Parking Lot, 1357 5th St. at Mandela Parkway, Oakland, California.

2008 MoCCA Art Festival

The 2008 MoCCA (Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art) Art Festival will take place the weekend of June 7-8 at the historic Puck Building (293 Lafayette Street at Houston) in downtown Manhattan's famed SoHo arts district. The festival will be open to the public from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm both days. Admission starts at $10/day or $15/weekend but is only $10/weekend for MoCCA members.

Animate! is the first Festival for Adult Animation of Uruguay. It started in 2005 and it had a second release in 2006.

Animate! 08 -- Segunda Edicion -- is the oldest animation film festival in Uruguay. This year it is the second edition of "Centro Cultural de España" in Montevideo, in its third year. The works accepted to this festival will be exhibited at the Cinema Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Espana, sponsored by Animation Campus and Centro Cultural de Espana del Uruguay.

The festival has its focus in short adult animations of any kind, no matter the technique. This is a non competitive festival, and there are no fees for submission.

13th Annual Los Angeles Times Festival Of Books
